Self-love appears to be self-explanatory but as students, we often fail to incorporate this in our lives. As a student myself, I know how difficult it is to take some time for ourselves. It always feels like we are running out of time to finish the given work, so the question arises, ‘when do I get to spend time with myself?’ A basic thing that I believe everyone needs to accept is that we can make time for things like picking up hobbies or habits if we really want.
So what is self-love? It means that we fall in love with ourselves, respect our flaws, appreciate our strengths, and be grateful for every little thing in our life.
Since we spend most of the time scrolling through random things on our phones, we might as well use it to bring some positivity to our life. There is an app called ‘Eternal sunshine’ which can be useful to people who are busy and want to bring some positivity in their lives, as this app sends notifications of good quotes every few hours and also has meditation exercises.
Nighttime a good time to relax and spend some time reflecting on your day, but if you are a morning person, getting up for sunrise would be a great idea. The time, activity, or environment does not matter, what matters is that you reflect and acknowledge your life and the person you are.
Here are a few activities that I recommend to do by yourself;
Watching and enjoying the sunset/sunrise.
Making a list of things you are grateful for.
Skincare routines.
Picking up a book and reading it.
Keeping a separate time slot for watching your favorite TV series (my favorite is F.R.I.E.N.D.S).
Vibing to your playlist and dancing your heart out.
There are many ways that one can show love towards themselves. Find your own way and I bet you will stop the negative feelings, allowing positivity to flow through yourself.
